BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY
Essential business philosophy: Always do what is best for your client and all else will take care of itself.
Best way to keep a competitive edge: Define who and what you are; hire great people; train, educate and mentor your associates; partner with your vendors, associates and clients.
Yardstick of success: Partnering with our clients and watching our clients grow!
Goal yet to be achieved: Watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl!
JUDGMENT CALLS
Best decision: Starting our college recruiting program 14 years ago. It has put us in the position of having a younger, talented, knowledgeable and experienced staff.
Worst decision: No bad decisions … just better learning experiences. I learn more from my failures than I do from my successes.
Toughest decision: Anytime that I have had to tell someone that they are no longer going to be part of our JKJ team.
Mentor: My wife, Donna. We have been together since 1977, the year we started high school. She is my biggest supporter and my toughest critic!

Company you respect most: I respect all organizations that do what is right…for their employees, their customers and for the community.
First choice for a new career: A character actor … especially in an M. Night Shyamalan film.
Greatest extravagance: My bobblehead and Philadelphia sports memorabilia collections.
ETC.
Award/honor most proud of: The 2010 Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Places to Work (Gold Winner). Our entire staff recognized the commitment we all have to one another. We are a TEAM!
Most influential book: A short story I read as a kid. The title is unknown to me, but the story had two endings. The first ending, the young boy sustains minor injuries in an accident and his mother yells at him that he should have made a better decision. In the second ending, the son makes a different decision and dies. The mother holds her son crying and questions why he made that decision. I look at things that happen in life and always first think … things could have ended up much worse!
Favorite movie: Any M. Night Shyamalan film. He has never forgotten his Philly roots and his films are awesome!
